Cimetrix - SECSConnect
SECSConnect
SECSConnect is a Component Object Module (COM) library for creating host or equipment software applications using SECS-II messaging over HSMS-SS or SECS-I. For advanced testing, it enables the user to write automated tests in C++, C#, VB.NET and other programming languages.
SECSConnect makes it very easy to send and receive SECS-II messages asynchronously and includes built-in queues for incoming and outgoing messages. SECSConnect is compatible with Visual C++, Microsoft Visual Studio .NET, and other IDE that support COM interfaces.

Cimetrix SECSConnect
The SECSConnect™ software toolkit provides both equipment suppliers and factories an easy-to-use library of functions for sending and receiving SECS-II messages (E5). SECS-II messages can be transported by either the HSMS-SS or the SECS-I protocols. This toolkit includes features that support message logging and communication diagnostics. SECSConnect is available stand-alone or bundled with the CIMConnect™ product.

Equipment Side Applications
Factory Use
- SECSConnect is used to generate an equipment simulator to test a host application with a known set of messages and content to send to the host, then verify appropriate responses back from the host.
Equipment Supplier Use
- SECSConnect is used as part of their equipment control application to generate and send messages to, and receive messages from, a host application.
- SECSConnect is used to develop a station controller for internal communications with equipment components that use a SECS interface.
Host Side Applications
Equipment Supplier Use
Equipment Supplier Use
- SECSConnect is used to generate a set of regression tests to verify the SECS interface prior to shipment.
Factory Use
- SECSConnect is used for developing equipment acceptance tests. The application acts as a host simulator that has a known set of messages and content to send to the equipment to verify the SECS interface.
- SECSConnect is used as part of their host application to generate and send messages to and receive messages from a tool application.
